What does it mean to feel truly connected? Could it be the deep bond we share with our loved ones or the silent harmony we find in nature? It might even be something more profound—a connection to the universe. For me, Connected encompasses all of these things. It's a reminder that we are all part of this beautiful planet and a call to take action for our future.

The Untold Story of Connected

I wanted to create a self-portrait but didn't want it to revolve only around myself. Instead, I aimed to capture the deeper purpose of my work: conservation.

While creating Connected, I discovered that it was not only a work of art—it became an inspiring mirror reflecting our collective journey. The Earth and my face are one in this piece, but the vision extends beyond the visual. The swirling cosmos in the background wasn't planned—it emerged naturally as if the art itself was reminding me that we're part of something infinite.

The materials I used are as intentional as the message. I chose Prismacolor Premier and Derwent Intense pencils for their vibrancy, layering them on Grafix Dura-Lar Matte to create depth and texture that feels alive, almost tangible. I wanted the piece to speak—not with words, but with its presence.

Why Connected Matters Now More Than Ever

Every time I look at Connected, I'm reminded of the choices we make every day. The way we interact with the planet—how we consume, create, and care—ripples far beyond what we can see.

I created Connected as a work of art and a call to action. It's a visual reminder that our decisions today will shape the world for generations.

This isn't just about climate change or conservation. It's about retesting that every small action, every seemingly minor choice, counts as something extraordinary.

A New Way to Experience Connected

If you've seen my enhanced prints or wearable art collection, you already know Connected goes beyond the frame. But here's something you might not know:

•   I hand-finished each enhanced print, adding unique details that make every piece unlike any other. No two prints are identical because art, like connection, is deeply personal.

•   The wearable art collection features exclusive designs you won't find anywhere else. From bold kimono wraps to sleek tops and flowing scarves, these pieces are as versatile as they are meaningful.

•   The Process: For wearable art, I work with skilled artisans to ensure the textures and colors of Connected come alive in every fabric. It's not just clothing; it's storytelling you can wear.

Something I've Never SI'ved About Connected

Here's something I don't usually talk about: Connected wasn't just inspired by conservation—it was also a reflection of my fears. The fear that even the most powerful art might not be enough to ignite the change we so desperately need.

But it was also a reflection of my hope. The hope is that one piece of art, one message, could start a ripple effect. And when I see how Connected resonates with people, I realize that hope isn't misplaced. Join the Conversation
